Cincinnati's third foray into the American Hockey League, following the  in the '50s and the  in the early '70s, the Mighty Ducks skated at the  from 1997 to 2005. A farm team of Anaheim, they ended their affiliation in 2005. The team then became the RailRaiders but couldn't find a parent club in the big leagues, so instead the team folded.
